ANZA CHARITIES 2006/2007 |

The following is a brief summary of the six charities receiving financial support from ANZA this financial year. |

- KAIBIGAN ERMITA OUTREACH FOUNDATION
|
|
| |
An organization devoted to the care and well being of street children in Manila. It provides educational assistance and other services to more than 200 impoverished children. Our money goes towards providing food for the children. |
|
| |
|
|
| |
|
|
| |
- SISTERS OF CHARITY OF ST. ANNE. ELSIE GACHES VILLAGES. ALABANG
|
|
| |
The village serves people who suffer from autism, epilepsy, cerebral palsy and other physical handicap, and those who are blind, deaf or mute. It also cares for emotionally disturbed and intellectually disabled. There are now over 600 adults and children being cared for at the village. Our money goes towards the daily food for the children. |

- MISSIONARIES OF CHARITY ( MOTHER TERESA ORPHANAGE)
|
|
| |
The orphanage provides continuous care for 25 - 45 babies and children aged 5 and under. Our money is used to provide medical supplies and food. The orphanage also provides a street children's program.
ANZA is in the process of organising English Language classes for high school students, as requested by the Head of this Charity. |

- DAUGHTERS OF VIRGIN MARY IMMACULATE OUTREACH PROGRAM (ALABANG SQUATTERS).
|
|
| |
|
|
| |
The nuns run a clinic every second Sunday for families with malnourished children from the Alabang squatter area. They are assisted by local volunteer medical officers. Our donated money goes to the purchase of medicines and medical supplies. |

- RELIGIOUS OF NOTRE DAME OF THE MISSION
|
|
| |
This mission has been providing a service for approximately 14 years and is run mostly by New Zealand nuns. The nuns endeavor to help the people of the Dulangan Manabo Tribe, particularly young females, in areas of health and education. While sensitive to the need for preserving cultural identity, the nuns hope to empower them to help themselves. |

Shiphrah is a community birthing centre in Antipolo. The centre aims to enable women to have a dignified and safe birthing experience. They provide a community birthing centre, prenatal and postnatal education, prenatal and postnatal examinations and checks, breast feeding counseling, family planning education and support, and provide training for village based midwifery. Shiphrah aims to empower women to make their own choices. The centre has approximately 500 births per year. Shiphrah is closely associated with the Little Children's Home which cares for abandoned and surrendered children. |

2006 |
|
| |
In March 2006, Working Hands, a vocational school in Cavite, was the recepient of the money collected at the Charity Ball. The school offers two courses in Automotive Mechanics and a Women's Sewing course with a view to empowering young adults to obtain employment. They needed money to repair and extend their classrooms and to purchase machinery for their training classes. |

2004 |

Bagbag National High School. Rosario. Cavite. Two additional classrooms are to be built due to overwhelming crowding of existing classrooms and growing student population.

2003 |
|
| |
Operation Rainbow Australia Limited. Funding of a volunteer surgical team (surgeons, nurses, and anaethetists) to provide free facial and palate reconstructive surgery to underprivileged children and young adults with congenital cleft lip and palate deformities. |
|

|
| |
2002 |
|
| |
The Women’s Health Care Foundation. Medical clinics were built in two depressed barangays – Caloocan and Basico. |
|

|
| |
2001 |
|
| |
National Commission on Indigenous Peoples. Three schoolhouses were built in Sitio Mabaldog Barangay. Ligaya, Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija - remote areas of Central Luzon for the indigenous people. |

| |
1990-2000 |
|
| |
The Tuloy Foundation. A rehabilitation centre was built in Laguna for the street children. |

A donation was given to relief operation to aid victims of November /December 2004 typhoon devastation in Manila and other areas. |

|
| |
A donation was given in recognition of his dedication in providing education to children from the impoverished areas of Payatas and Smoky Mountain settlements. This money was directed towards providing further educational resources to the children. |
