New Zealand, one of the first countries to pledge a carbon-neutral future, was the main host of this year's World Environment Day on 5 June, 2008, as chosen by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP). Here in Manila, the Department of Energy, the United Nations Development Programme, together with the NZ Embassy and the NZ Trade and Enterprise, will host an expo from 9 - 11 June, at Greenbelt 3, giving companies an opportunity to showcase their efforts to combat global climate change. This year's theme is: "Towards A Low Carbon Economy and Lifestyle".

Marie handcrafts jewellery pieces from semi precious stones and crystals, using various techniques including wire twisting and wire linking. Having run weekday workshops for the last two years, Marie is now offering a Saturday workshop due to popular demand.
